Release Planning: Determine release sequence of the release. Per that sequence, create release number in JIRA per Version Numbering. As much as is possible, understand forward looking direction and needs, planning and requesting resources necessary to implement future environment needs. Environment allocation for release ??????? Determine development and test environment(s) needed for the release to be successful. Environment preparation: ??????? Ensure all necessary applications exist in the environment. ??????? Determine data needs and whether the data in the environment should be refreshed. ??????? Instruct DevOps team members which version(s) of the applications to deploy. ??????? Oversee environment preparation Code submission oversight: ??????? Monitor pull request process & Code Promotion SOP and intercept and coach practices that could risk audit violations and product quality degradation. Release deployment: ??????? Oversee deployment of releases to test and user acceptance test environments. Environment and build smoke test ??????? Ensure that smoke tests pass after each release deployment to an environment Environment stability: ??????? Accept and route escalations and outages of environments. ??????? Coordinate and expedite dependencies with dependent groups such as the DBA, Middleware, Network, and Server Infrastructure (nixsa) teams. ??????? Implement improvements to release process to improve audit compliance, quality, and speed of delivery. Engineering lifecycle tool selection and implementation: ??????? Research, qualify, and select engineering lifecycle tools to improve process speed and quality. Source code branch oversight and clean-up: ??????? Oversee usage of source control branches. ??????? Clean up major mistakes in source control using administrator privileges. This happens about once per quarter. ? Qualifications: 8+ years of experience as a? DevOps? Release ? Manager ?for a highly skilled team of Technical Engineers, Developers, and Infrastructure experts to design, develop, implement, and optimize cloud/hybrid platforms. Being both a strategic and technical thinker, must be able to interact with both technical and nontechnical personnel at all levels within the organization. Communicate status with larger organization, disseminating technical information about what's in queue, scheduling, timing, program status etc. Build positive team dynamics and relationships with customer/team staff; remedying dysfunction to maintain healthy and productive teams Identify and quickly comprehend complex project dependencies and in collaboration with cross-functional team members, resolve dependencies and blockers 8+ years of experience Knowledge of DevOps capabilities such as Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD), Automated Testing, etc. Proficient in Service Now, JIRA & Confluence.
