We are seeking a Vice President, International Card Lending, to lead a team responsible for the expansion of our credit card products, installment lending on card, and pay over time feature for our charge cards across SME internationally. This brand new team will be a center of excellence to help launch, customer manage, and build shared capabilities across our key international markets (e.g., Australia, Canada, Japan, Mexico, and UK) for SME card based lending. This is the opportunity to build a 9 person team including three direct reports from the ground-up and accelerate our culture of international lending excellence. The Vice President, International Commercial Card Lending role would report into the Head of Global Commercial Card Lending Products. This is an exciting growth area for American Express and will enable excellent visibility to Senior Leadership.. This team will work closely with the local product management, risk management, finance, marketing, and technology teams to identify market opportunities, target the right prospects and unlock opportunities within the existing customer base. All of this is done with a consistent focus on balancing portfolio economics and risk for both top and bottom-line objectives.. Qualifications. Core Responsibilities:. * Grow International Card Billings and A/R at the right margins through strategic management of product P&Ls.. * Deliver scope of work on time and on budget while prioritizing investments with an ROI-focus.. * Research, analyze and champion customer needs with a focus on the Small Business Owner in key international markets.. Develop end-to-end and innovative customer experience strategies.. * Co-create and implement product investment roadmaps in close partnership with key execution teams.. * Drive improvements to products NPS.. * Maintain an understanding of the current and future state of competition and the market to identify and act upon key opportunities and threats in a timely fashion.. Lead a team of nine high performers with a strong focus on engagement and development.. * Partner closely with and influence key functional and execution teams, including Finance, Risk, Marketing, Technologies, Digital and Operations.. Qualifications:. 12+ years Product Management, Marketing, Lending and/or Banking experience.. Strong analytical skills with expertise in lending economics and risk management highly preferred.. Prior international experience and multi-language fluency is preferred.. History of P&L and budget accountability.. Proven track record of driving results and measurable outcomes.. Strong customer-centric mentality and customer-first approach.. History of strong people leadership, effectively managing, engaging and developing talent.. Strong relationship skills, including collaborating with and influencing partners and leadership both in-person and virtually.. Executive presence, including the ability to present to and work with Sr. Executives with poise and confidence..
